GIG REVIEW
THE BLUE BAR, PORTHTOWAN, CORNWALL, February 2009
"The Quails are the perfect package. The quirky five piece from Teignmouth, Devon storm the stage with their classic - rock-edged indie/pop tunes and cool shoes. Visually well-styled they are a record company's dream and could easily be cut out and pasted on to a major festival stage. With a number of prestigious gigs and an album under their belt, it is unbelievable that The Quails remain unsigned. The band set tongues wagging even before they arrive at a gig. The stir they have caused 'over the bridge' seems to be reaching the furthest darkest points of Cornwall and is spreading like wild fire across the South West and beyond." Go To Magazine
GIG REVIEW, THE HALF MOON PUTNEY “It's not often that the bar staff at a great music venue like the Half Moon rave about a new band – come on, they've seen it all before. But that's exactly what happened last night when The Quails hit London like a category five hurricane.
The five-piece, from the sleepy Devon seaside town of Teignmouth, blasted through a fantastic set of danceable, quirky indie pop songs that left the audience breathless and begging for more. Front-man singer/guitarist Dan Steer may look like a badly drawn boy but he sounds like the finished article and guitarist Max Armstrong stunned the crowd with some amazing chunky riffs, while every hit-you-where-it-matters song was underpinned by the tightest rhythm section outside an atomic clock, courtesy of bassist Sam Banks, drummer Chris Prentice and rhythm guitarist John foulkes. Talk about a Wall of Sound! Phil Spector, eat your heart out, because these boys sounded like Heathrow the night before a bank holiday.
Teignmouth already has one band that are doing reasonably well for themselves - I think they're called Muse. But here's a tip for you: The Quails are coming, and if anybody asks you how you know, tell them a little bird told you.”
For a fresh sound that hasn't been heard this decade, comprised of melodic soulful tunes, and mind blowing solos, this wall of glam rock and roll energy is laced and intertwined with awesome anthemic vocals and lyrics . Look no further, just remember the name, The Quails." Colin Parrish

The Origin
The word “origin” means the beginning of something; the starting point of something new. With this in mind we “The Origin” are chasing a dream. We’re five people from Somerset England ready to take on the world with gloves off and guns blazing! Plunging something vaguely different into the mixing pot, chasing dense guitar riffs with energetic drum grooves and female fronted harmonies, accompanied with an intense vocal undercurrent. The Origin have started a journey, a journey we hope will introduce us to many awesome people and many awesome places.
We’re not introvert about what we believe, each of us bringing something diverse to our sound and our approach to fans and friends. Thank you for supporting us, we hope you stick with us on our journey and we hope that one day we can meet you all to say thank you.
