From their inception in 2001 Pama Intl have been brewing a unique blend of 60's soul, 70's reggae with a 21st century commentary. As much King Tubby as the southern soul sounds of Stax, all the time remaining distinctly Pama Intl. In 2006 they became the first new band to sign to the legendary Trojan Records in 30 years. The revolving nature of the collective's line up has seen the band line up members from The Specials, Madness, Steel Pulse, Galliano, The Lee Perry Band, Pop Will Eat Itself, Steel Pulse, Style Council, Bentley Rhythm Ace, The Selecter, Groove Corp, Mungos Hi Fi and collaborations with Dennis Alcapone, Dave & Ansel Collins, Billy Bragg, Michie One, Rico Rodriguez, Derrick Morgan, Mad Professor and Dawn Penn.
Pama Intl's spring 2010 Outernational tour see's the line up include; Finny on vocals (The Loafers, Special Beat), Dredy on drums (African Head Charge, Gregory Isaacs), Andi McLean on bass (U Roy, Frankie Paul), Lenny Bignell (Lord Large), Sean Flowerdew on keys (The Loafers, Special Beat) and at the controls Marcos Ferrari (The Specials, Easy Star All-stars).
With not one but two tours supporting The Specials, and Levellers, numerous festival appearances including Glastonbury, and critical acclaim across the board from press and radio, 2009 was another huge year for Pama Intl. 2010 looks set to exceed all expectations.

Backbeat Sound System
“Made with movement in mind. Traditional reggae music slapped upside the head with a party stick. Stomping bass, dub synths & steady grooves.“
"In the short time Backbeat have been together, they have been smashing up the live music scene in the U.K with their unique brand of funky, sexy, party reggae. Blending pop sensibilities, with the undeniable groove of their uptempo tunes, b.b.s.s not only create a perfect party atmosphere, but leave you with infectious melodies that are sure to be in your head for days!
Over the last year they've shared a stage with many big names including Cypress Hill, Dreadzone, Dub Pistols and Natty, enjoyed a spot at many of the U.K's biggest festivals including Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party and Ireland's Electric Picnic, and Shook up whole clubs with their pumping reggae rhythms. Where ever they're playing, it's obvious that b.b.s.s can transcend musical barriers and do whats most important...make sure that every single person in the room, (or field) is having fun, and dancing their legs off!!
An incredible summer came to it's finale with BackBeat releasing their eagerly awaited debut e.p 'Funky in the face of fear', which has received nothing but the most positive reviews, and continues to not only bring back the good time vibes of the summer, but make people who didn't realise they liked reggae, to sit up and look again!
Drawing from their experience of filling dance floors across the land, the boys are back this summer with an even bigger sound, that sees them take their anthemic reggae bangers to a whole new level, and with a new e.p due to be released early June 2010, this year is set to be even bigger than the last!
BackBeatSoundSystem truly need to be witnessed live to realise that Cornwall is sitting on a huge gem. 8 like minded people on stage having huge amounts of fun, playing music not for ego or image, but just for the love of it. So get yourself down to the next BackBeat mash up, and make sure you bring your dancing shoes!!"
